State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) founded its affiliate SOCAR Energy Georgia, Ltd which on its side founded SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, Ltd with 100% share.
SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, Ltd came into Georgian oil market in September 2006.
The monthly turnover of SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, Ltd has already reached several million USD. The company has provided various customers with approximately 5000 (five thousand) tons of oil products. SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, Ltd is a rapidly growing company and it has employed highly efficient personnel. The Department of Marketing and Economic Operations effectively continues acceptance and sale of oil products within the country. Strategic development plan of SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, Ltd considers increasing of monthly turnover of fuel up to 15000 (fifteen thousand) tons. For achieving this purpose construction of fuel store bases will begin in the nearest future. Up-to-date technologies will be utilized in construction. SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, Ltd will accept and store 10 000 (ten thousand) tons of fuel at the product base in Tbilisi; 5 000 (five thousand) tons of fuel will be stored in the Western part of Georgia and 5 000 (five thousand) tons - in the Eastern part of the country. Thus, the tonnage of SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, Ltd will amount to 20000 (twenty thousand) tons at its own store bases. As a result, Georgian market will be provided with oil products during the whole period.
SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, Ltd plans to develop the petrol station network in Tbilisi as well as in regions where local customers will be provided with high quality fuel. The first petrol station was opened on April 25, 2008.
